" Joёlle`s treatments have had a significant and positive impact on my horses in competition. I have used a lot of physical therapists over the years but I have never seen such a remarkable change in my horses as when Joёlle works on them. Cadillac loves her! "Lees meer

" I am a Belgian dressage rider and member of the Belgian Young Riders dressage team. My trainer is the Belgian top dressage rider Jeroen Devroe. Joёlle is regularly taking care of our successful horses. For the last few years I have been selected for the European Youth Championships together with Noémi Goris and Mieke Mommen also stabled at Jeroen Devroe`s yard. We all have had top results winning gold, silver and bronze medals at the Belgian Championships. Dressage is about the complete picture. Joёlle has been an important part of that team helping our horses to compete at top level. The horses benefit from her treatments. At the Europeans in Broholm I even received the `Classical Style award` among other things because of my horse looking like a happy athlete. "

" I almost gave up on finding a devoted, highly skilled professional with the welfare of my horses at heart, and not handling only in the pursuit of money like a lot of so called ‘therapists’. But then, some years ago, I was introduced to Joёlle and since our first conversation Joёlle has made me more conscious about teaching and training in a way that I could never have hoped for. The hard labour she sometimes does on the horses and riders is priceless. She's the no-nonsense type! Listen to her advice and accept your own and your horses' weaknesses and you will be gratefully rewarded!

If you’re not willing to learn, no one can help you.
If you’re determined to learn, no one can stop you.
Joëlle’s passion for horses is the key driver behind her practice. After successfully obtaining her Bachelor in Physiotherapy in Belgium in 1994, she moved to the UK to specialise in equine physiotherapy with several ACPAT members.
Joëlle was privileged to work 3 years full-time for Victoria Spalding, official British Team Physiotherapist.
Working daily alongside elite sports horses, trainers and outstanding equine orthopaedic specialist, broadened her experience and knowledge.
Joëlle completed her Masters in Science Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2006. This makes her the only Belgian Veterinary Physiotherapist holding a Master’s Degree.
An important prerequisite for a good assessment is the understanding of the biomechanics of all aspects of equestrian sport. This involves rider and equine performance as well as saddle fit.
This is why, after moving back to Belgium in 2010, Joëlle is continuing her professional development, focusing on rider physiotherapy, Pilates and Flexchair rider training.
Joëlle offers a holistic concept assessing and treating both horse and rider. Saddle fit is an integral part of her practice. A good fitting saddle is starting point to the success of any kind of treatment and training.
The result is a unique practice enabling to identify potential problems within equestrian performance and improving the welfare of the equestrian athlete.
Having worked in a variety of clinical settings within the equestrian sport, Joëlle could not fail to notice how big an impact a saddle makes to the horse and rider. The saddle is the interface between horse and rider, influencing the horse’s movement as well as the rider’s position. She experienced that she could help horses more efficiently by also adjusting the saddle fit.
This is how Joëlle became engrossed with saddle fitting and embarked on the internationally recognised Masters Saddle Fitting Course in the Netherlands. The course is of a very high standard and emphasises on the science and biomechanics behind saddle fitting for both horse and rider. Joëlle pursued her saddle fitting experience in the UK at the Cumbria School of Saddlery and with Albion Saddle makers.
Joëlle set up her own practice in Yorkshire in 2006. Her practice expanded quickly, and soon she was working with riders in the UK, Germany, Denmark and Belgium.
The dressage world became Joëlle’s playground and she travelled on the international dressage circuit with several elite riders. This is where she learned the positive effects of in depth rider-analysis and rider-training.
She invested in the Quintic Biomechanics software and the Novel Pliance Saddle pressure system. These objective assessment tools helped her to increase her understanding of the effects of saddle and rider on equine performance.
